groggy Terms of Use

Effective 18 October 2026. These terms are the agreement between you and BetheApp, the publisher of groggy, for the app on iPhone and iPad. By using the app you accept them. The Privacy Policy explains how data is handled. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies.

1. The service

groggy is an alarm clock. An alarm rings at the time you set and stops after you complete the missions you chose (math, shake, barcode), a backup mission, your rescue code, or a plain stop button for an alarm without a mission. groggy works offline and needs no account.

2. Use it as an alarm, not as a safety device

groggy relies on iOS to ring. We work hard to make every alarm ring, and the bedtime check tells you what to fix, but an alarm can still fail to ring, for example if the phone is off or out of battery, the alarm permission or the sound is turned off, or iOS stops the app. Do not rely on groggy alone where missing an alarm could cause harm, such as for medication, medical care or safety-critical work.

3. What is free

The free plan is a real product, with no trial and no time limit: up to 3 alarms switched on at once, every mission, the backup mission, the rescue code, the bedtime check, the reliability log, widgets and Lock Screen. There are no ads.

4. Lifetime unlock: price

Lifetime unlock is optional. It removes the limit of 3 alarms switched on at once and unlocks every alarm sound. It is a one-time purchase: there is no subscription and nothing renews. Lifetime is not shared through Family Sharing.

Prices are set in US dollars; in every other country the App Store shows the equivalent price in local currency, including any VAT, before you confirm.

The purchase screen shows the price in your currency before you confirm.

5. Payment, restore and refunds

  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Billing is handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details.
  • Lifetime stays with the Apple Account that paid. To get it back on a new device: Settings › License & restore › Restore purchase.
  • Refunds are decided by Apple under its own rules at reportaproblem.apple.com. If a purchase is refunded, Lifetime turns off; alarms that are already on stay on.
  • Deleting the app or your data does not remove Lifetime from your Apple Account.

Statutory rights you have as a consumer, including in the EU, are not affected.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use groggy to break the law, and do not copy, resell or reverse-engineer the app beyond what the law allows.

7. Liability

groggy is provided as it is. We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and as mandatory law requires. Otherwise, for slight negligence, we are liable only for breach of an essential obligation and only up to the damage that was foreseeable when you bought Lifetime. Nothing here limits rights that consumer law in your country does not allow to be limited.

8. Changes and termination

We may change these terms for a valid reason, such as a new feature or a change in law, and we tell you in the app before a change that affects you takes effect. If you do not agree, stop using the app. You may stop using groggy at any time.
