groggy Privacy Policy

Effective 18 October 2026. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use groggy, the alarm app for iPhone and iPad published by BetheApp ("we"). The short version: groggy collects nothing. There is no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

1. What stays on your phone

Everything you create in groggy is stored only on your device, and we have no way to see it:

  • your alarms: times, days, labels, sounds and volume;
  • your mission settings, including the code of the barcode you scan for the Barcode mission;
  • your rescue code, kept in the iPhone Keychain on this device only (not synced, not in iCloud backups);
  • the reliability log: when each alarm rang and how it was stopped, for the last 30 days;
  • your settings, such as appearance and the bedtime reminder.

groggy has no server. Nothing above is sent to us or to anyone else.

2. Permissions groggy asks for

  • Alarms (iOS AlarmKit), so an alarm can ring on time, also on Silent and in Focus.
  • Notifications, for the wake-up check 5 minutes after an alarm stops and the optional bedtime reminder.
  • Camera, only for the Barcode mission: to set up the barcode and to scan it when the alarm rings. The image is read on the device to find the code; it is never saved or sent.

You can refuse or later turn off any of them in iPhone Settings. groggy keeps working; only the feature that needs the permission stops.

3. Purchases

Lifetime unlock is an optional one-time purchase made through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment and your payment details; we never receive them. The app asks the App Store whether this Apple Account owns Lifetime, which is how purchases are restored. Apple's own privacy policy applies to the App Store.

4. Crash reports

groggy contains no crash reporting or analytics tool. If you chose in iPhone Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may pass us anonymous crash reports. They do not include your alarm times, labels or codes. You control this in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

5. This website

groggy.betheapp.com is served by Cloudflare. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or scripts. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver the pages and protect the site; we do not use it to identify you.

6. Deleting your data

In the app: Settings › Privacy & data › Delete all data removes your alarms, rescue code, log and settings from the phone. Deleting the app removes everything as well. Your Lifetime unlock stays with your Apple Account and can be restored.

7. Children

groggy is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children either.

8. Your rights

Data protection laws, including the GDPR, give you rights to access, correct, delete and export personal data. As groggy keeps your data only on your device, you exercise them directly in the app. For any question, write to us.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, we update this page and its date, and tell you in the app before a change that affects you takes effect.
